September 12, 2007–The Rio International Film Festival, which runs September 20-October 4, 2007, will focus on China. One of the largest film festivals in Latin America, the festival will select 12 contempo Chinese movies and eight classics produced in the 1930s and 1940s.

September 8, 2007–The Weinstein Co. has bought world rights to “Boy A,” a drama that premiered Friday at the Toronto Film Festival. Directed by John Crowley (“Intermission”), the film is adapted from the novel by Jonathan Trigell and stars Andrew Garfield and Peter Mullen.
