August 17, 2010 – The Toronto International Film Festival announces the addition of two Galas and 18 Special Presentations to this year’s line-up, including 14 World Premieres. This year’s Festival includes the world premieres of new films by Clint Eastwood, Danny Boyle, John Sayles, Guillem Morales and Stefano Incerti. The Galas and Special Presentations announced today feature on-screen appearances by Matt Damon, James Franco, Jennifer Connelly, Will Ferrell, Keira Knightley, Joaquin Phoenix, Ed Harris, Toni Servillo, Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox, Bill Murray, Charlotte Rampling, Emma Roberts and Eva Mendes.

August 17, 2010 – Works by award-winning artists Michael Nyman and Harun Farocki are the latest additions to the Toronto International Film Festival’s city-wide Future Projections program of moving-image art projects, inspired by the history and culture of cinema. Like other Future Projections titles this year, by artists such as Douglas Gordon, Stan Douglas and Martin Arnold, Nyman’s and Farocki’s works complement Essential Cinema, TIFF Bell Lightbox’s inaugural exhibition, by referencing films and filmmakers in the Essential 100, a list based on TIFF expert and audience votes.

August, 17, 2010 – In celebration of its 35th anniversary, the Toronto International Film Festival gives back to film lovers with the TIFF For Free programme, a series of free public film screenings showcasing programming gems from Festivals past. All screenings will take place at TIFF Bell Lightbox and will give audiences the opportunity to get better acquainted with the city’s new hub for cinematic activity.
