Bob Fosse’s final film followed the real-life rise of Playboy model Dorothy Stratten, portrayed by Mariel Hemingway, and brutal murder by her husband, played by Eric Roberts.

A grim departure from Fosse’s typical fare, the movie faced criticism and lawsuits from many of the people portrayed onscreen — including Hugh Hefner and Peter Bogdanovich.
