Screenwriter Phyllis (Carol) Nagy’s affecting drama, Call Jane, tells the story of a suburban woman (played by Elizabeth Banks) who gets involved in the Jane Collective, an underground service that provided safe abortions in the years before Roe v. Wade.
It’s a bracing and intimate view of a historical moment that’s very relevant today.
