Rebecca Huntt’s Beba is a coming-of-age documentary about the recognition and reclamation of an American bloodline.
It took Huntt eight years to organize the material that forms her memoir–a mix of interviews, archival footage and reenactments–narrated by the director’s own voice.
Hunt’s life experience, as a New York-born Afro Latina woman, deals with issues of identity and self-expression–the right to be heard.
The chronology of her perspective is highlighted in titles like “The Curse,” “Mind Control,” and “The Zombie Apocalypse.”
