In William A. Seitler’s mildly amusing comedy, the lead stars are the thing. Gallic Charles Boyer and the great American actress Margaret Sullavan play career-driven individuals, a playwright and a doctor respectively, who, despite attraction to each other, spend little time together cultivating their marriage.
Both stars were popular at the time; Boyer was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar in 1938 for “Algiers,” and Sullavan for the Best Actress Oscar in the same year for “Three Comrades.”
