Oscar Actors: Kelly, Grace–Career, 1951-1956

It’s hard to think of many actresses who burst upon the scene and immediately took Hollywood–and the public–by storm.

Grace Kelly had made 11 films in a career spanning only 5 years, reaching its height in 1954, with two Hitchcock films, and winning the Best Actress Oscar for a third one, The Country Girl.

1951: Fourteen Hours, Hathaway

1952: High Noon, Zinnemann

1953: Mogambo, John Ford

1954: Dial M for Murder, Rear Window; Hitchcock

The country Girl, George Seaton; Green Fire

1955: To Catch a Thief, Hitchcock; The Bridges of Toko-Ri

1956: The Swan; High Society
