In 1941, after Joan Fontaine won the Best Actress from the New York Film Critics Circle for her role in Hitchcock’s Suspicion, the studio, RKO, booked the film into the Pantages for one day, January 11, which was the last day of eligibility for that year’s Academy Awards.
