Oscars 1960: Best Song–High Hopes and John F. Kennedy

In 1960, the winner of Best Song Oscar, “High Hopes,” sung by Frank Sinatra in the movie A Hole in the Head, became a theme tune for the John F. Kennedy Presidential campaign.

The music was composed by James Van Heusen, and the lyrics by Sammy Cahn.
