After years of mediocre films, Will Smith has found a suitable part that fits his stature as a major star in the biopic, King Richard.

He plays the ambitious and eccentric father of tennis prodigies Venus and Serena Williams in the late 1980s and 1990s,  trailblazing a path for two highly talented girls in their early teens in a sport where Blacks were virtually nonexistent.

The movie offers an engaging chronicle of an unusual success story of not one but two sisters–it’s the kind of broad, inspirational mass entertainment.
