Sherlock: New Look for Cumberbatch and Freeman

“Sherlock’s,” by British broadcaster BBC One, allows a first look at stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the upcoming special episode.

The dynamic duo are getting in touch with their iconic characters’ literary roots, looking downright Victorian.

An earlier tweet — which included a photo of the special’s script — alerted fans that a preview of the one-off was forthcoming, promising a look at the two “as they’ll appear in the special,” which is set to air sometime in 2015. This note has led to a flurry of fan speculation regarding time-travel and/or a game of dress-up.

Viewers interest is piqued for the special that will begin shooting in January 2015. A fourth season of “Sherlock” is set commence production later in 2015.

Meanwhile, both Freeman and Cumberbatch appear in New Line’s “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” which bows Dec. 17.
