Individualism has always been a major cultural element of the American Way of Life. Notions of appropriate (and inappropriate) individualism are transmitted not only by the family, peer group, and school, but also by the mass media, especially cinema–Hollywood movies.

Split is a return to form for Shyamalan (Sixth Sense), with a scary horror thriller that is breaking box-office records.

As directed by Ben Affleck, artistically speaking, Live By Night is his worst film.  But the film also was a huge commercial flop, though before being seen it had been touted as an Oscar hopeful.
