Susannah York, the actress, died on January 15 aged 72. Along with Julie Christie and Sarah Miles, York one of the quintessential faces of the 1960s. She was nominated for the 1969 Supporting Actress Oscar in "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?"

Blake Edwards was an extremely gifted filmmaker, who worked in a variety of genres, but is best known for his comedies and satires. Edwards, the prolific writer-director behind the enduring "Pink Panther" series as well as such notable pictures as "Days of Wine and Roses," "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "10," "S.O.B." and "Victor/Victoria," died Wednesday of complications from pneumonia. He was 88.
