July 14, 2007–“Grease” has made about $14.2 million in advance ticket sales due to the NBC casting competition, “Grease: You're the One That I Want,” which had a run that began in January. The revival begins previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theater July 24 for an Aug. 19 opening.

July 7, 2007–Like the irreverent Bart and Homer Simpson, Fox's promotional strategy for “The Simpsons Movie” breaks the rules. The studio has lined up only four tie-in partners for its summer's tentpole film, and only one–Burger King–is a traditional major advertiser buying TV ads.

June 21, 2007–The American Film Institute (AFI) presented a new version of its “100 Greatest Movies of All Time” last night on CBS. And while there were some notable changes from the 1996 poll, “Citizen Kane” was still No. 1 and eight original titles remained in the top 10.

When Hasbro, Inc. introduced the TRANSFORMERS to the U.S. in 1984, it revolutionized a category it had itself invented some 20 years earlier: Action figures. In 1986, the animated feature film “TRANSFORMERS: The Movie” was released in theaters, featuring many of the characters that the new toys were modeled after. It featured the voice talents of Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Robert Stack, and Orson Welles and a rock soundtrack.
