United States of Tara: Spielberg' TV Series Penned by Diablo Cody

June 4, 2008–Showtime will greenlight “The United States of Tara,” Steven Spielberg' series. Based on an original idea by Spielberg, the show revolves around an ordinary-seeming wife and mother who suffers from dissociative identity (multiple personality) disorder. Diablo Cody (“Juno”) has penned the half-hour single-camera comedy.

Universal Lot on Fire

June 1, 2008–A huge fire raged on a back lot at Universal Studios early Sunday, destroying several movie sets, including mock New York and New England streets. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Legally Blonde The Musical: Reality Gow to Premiere June 2

May 4, 2008–The Rialto reality show, “Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods,” with host Haylie Duff, will premiere June 2 on MTV. The 8-episode series follows 10 actresses trying to replace Laura Bell Bundy as the star of “Legally Blonde,” the 2007 muiscal based on the 2001 MGM picture.

Indy Jones 4: Tentpole Picture with Promotion and Tie-Ins to Match

Both exec-producer George Lucas and director Spielberg are known for their resourceful ideas when it comes to making and promoting their pictures. The new Indy should benefit from prime TV spots on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend that will feature car chases and Indiana Jones wielding his trademark bullwhip (you must have seen photos by now).
