Rock, Chris: Documentary GOOD HAIR
May 15, 2009 – Roadside Attractions and Liddell Entertainment have acquired worldwide rights to Chris Rock’s GOOD HAIR, a hilariously insightful and entertaining, yet remarkably serious, look at the African American hair culture, produced by HBO Films. The film had its world premiere at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Special Jury Prize: U.S. Documentary.
True Blood: Season 2
TRUE BLOOD kicks off its 12-episode second season SUNDAY, JUNE 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, followed by other new episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time. The show follows the romance between waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, and her soul mate, 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”) created and executive produces the show, which is based on the best-selling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.
Midnight Movies: IFC Films to Revive the Genre
April 16, 2009 — IFC Films will be releasing a number of horror, science fiction, erotic arthouse and action films films over the next few months. IFC Films is releasing more than 30 IFC Midnight titles in 2009 across its theatrical and on-demand platforms, giving exposure to films that have premiered at major festivals such as Cannes, Toronto, Sundance, AFI and SXSW.
