Cannes Film Fest 2007–May 2, 2007: Five American movies have been chosen as part of the Cannes Film Festival's Directors' Fortnight sidebar, only just behind France's six films.
However, Ramin Bahrani's “Chop Shop,” about immigrant New Yorkers in Brooklyn, will be the only surprise.

April 24 2007–The 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by American Express, today announced its jurors for each competitive category, as well as the jurors for the Tribeca All Access Program (TAA), and the awards that will be given out. The juries are made-up of a diverse and talented group of individuals who range from remarkable filmmakers to established actors as well as respected journalists. Each jury will announce this year‚Äôs winners at the Awards Night Ceremony on Thursday, May 3rd.

Moscow Film Fest 1995–The hottest ticket in the l9th Moscow International Film Fest was not for any specific movie–or film event–but for a boat trip on the Volga. It was director Nikita Mikhalkov's idea to take some 250 of the fest's VIPs to Nizhny Novgorod, where his latest pic, Burnt by the Sun, was shot. With everyone wanting to go, speculations ran high all week as to who would make the final cut–call it “Nikita's List”–for the luxurious weekend, during which festival activities in Moscow were interrupted.

April 19, 2007–Richly diverse progamming marks the various sections of the 60th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Cannes Classics, for example, will feature docus on Brando, Fonda, and Lindsay Anderson.
